Advocate Summer Leadership Conference 2018!


8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

The Summer Leadership Conference is a 3-week holistic and comprehensive youth development program for middle and high school students, that encourages the development of leadership skills, entrepreneurial thinking and community building using a project-based approach with an emphasis on youth voice and social justice. 

Over the course of three weeks, participants will engage in a series of group activities that will help grow their existing leadership skills and capabilities, and build the confidence they'll need to take on leadership roles at school and in life. The program also incorporates health and wellness, academic enrichment and a concentration in the arts or athletics.

The overall goal of the summer leadership conference is for participants to gain a wealth of knowledge that will help prepare them for successful futures while creating fun memories and making new friends!

The application deadline for the Summer Leadership Conference is Friday, June 8thFamilies are encouraged to apply early, as space is limited. Notifications of acceptance will be made by June 15th and a mandatory orientation for students and parents will follow.

College Boot Camp at The Advocate Center is an intensive, two-week college prep program for rising 11th and 12th graders that incorporates everything students need to know to begin preparing for college and beyond. Over the course of 2-weeks, participants will visit a host of colleges and universities and learn about:

Financial Aid/Scholarships/Tuition; Picking a College and Exploring Majors; SAT/ACT Prep and Tutoring; On-campus Resources; Study Habits, Time Management and Organizational Skills; Career Exploration and Counseling, and more!

Around the World Global Citizenship Camp (Ages 7 to 10)

In this one-week, half-day camp, participants will explore the vast and diverse world in which we live. Activities for the week include:

  • Exploring the topics of global citizenship, empathy, compassion, social justice and world peace
  • Reading books and watching videos about children in other regions of the world, including their experiences and cultural traditions
  • Writing our own stories and sharing our own cultures
  • Creating artwork and learning dances from the featured regions  
  • Learning new recipes and tasting popular snacks from these regions
