Painting & Meditation: ZENGA (ages 8+)

Zenga is a style of Japanese calligraphy and painting, done in ink. In many instances, both calligraphy and image will be in the same piece. The calligraphy denotes a poem, or saying, that teaches some element of the true path of Zen. The brush painting is characteristically simple, bold and abstract.

This workshop is intended to help participants relax and regain focus on their inner being in a new way. The session begins with meditation and music, adding to the ambiance of stillness, mindfulness and the inward journey. Participants are then guided into a creative journey where they get to feel, breathe, and become freer with every stroke of the brush. All work will be done with eyes closed.

This workshop is limited to 10 participants only and registration is first come, first served.
